SUMMARY:SPEEDO VIRTUAL DISTANCE SERIES – 800M
DESCRIPTION:GENERAL INFORMATION  \nSwimming Canada has created the Speedo Virtual Distance Series to promote distance swimming across Canada with minimal travel. This is an opportunity for distance racing in various pools throughout a series of events (3000-1500-800) that will take place in November\, January and April. \nThe Speedo Virtual Distance Series is open to all registered Swimming Canada club members.  All swimmers wishing to participate must be registered as Competitive/Varsity or Masters. \nAll rules applicable to the 800m and 1500m events at a sanctioned competition apply to this series. \nIf swimming in a competition\, the swimmer is automatically entered into this series. If a swimmer prefers not to be included\, they must opt out by emailing events@swimming.ca. \nFORMAT \nThe events must be held in short course meters (25m) pools to remove barriers for participation and enhance accessibility. Competitions already in the meet schedule may be used\, time trials or watch times in workout. Competitions or time trials can be organized by the Province\, individual clubs\, or groups of clubs. These events must occur within the applicable 30 (or 31) day window of November\, January\, and April. If a competition begins before the last day of the month\, the full competition results will be used. (e.g. January 30-February 1\, 2026) \nSUBMITTING “RESULTS” \nSanctioned competition results will be used from all competitions within the appropriate month. Results from a coach’s watch/workout times must be submitted to the above form by 23:59pm PST on the final day of the month.
